Current Fundraisers

Bottle Drives

Bottle drives are our most profitable fundraiser.  The total profit raised from each fundraiser is split 60% to participating students directly and 40% to the MPA.  Each participating student can earn up to 3 credits (shares) of the 60%.  Students earn 1 share, and a volunteer drive with a truck/minivan /SUV earns 2 shares.  Students may drive but must have a permission slip signed by the parents of any passengers.  The MPA reserves the right to lower the share for the driver if they do not fully participate.

Purdys

Coming October 20, 2025 with orders due November 15

Students earn 25% of each sale with 60% going to the student travel credit account and 40% to the MPA.  Students must use THIS LINK to create their own individual dashboard.  They will see a unique link (top left) to share with friends and family.  Creating a dashboard connects supporters with the student.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Students MUST complete their own individual registration before they share the campaign with friends and family.  If orders are received with this complete, 100% of the proceeds will go the the MPA.

Year Round Fundraisers:

  • Bottle drive – year round fundraiser; take your bottles to Walden Bottle Depot 19618 Walden Blvd SE and let them know the proceeds are for the JCSMPA account.   We will call for bottle donations to be brought to various performances throughout the year.

Fund raising profits are credited 60% directly into student accounts & 40% to JCSMPA.

The proceeds are organized as follows:

Student Travel Credits (STC)

Travel credits can be earned by students/parents during the school year through a variety of fund-raising activities. Travel credits can be accumulated during the music program but are not refundable in cash.

Records are kept for fund-raised earnings of each student by the JCSMPA treasurer.  Credits may be accumulated and used for the major tours or used in any grade for camps or festival trips.  We start fundraising early in September to give students the opportunity to begin earning STC which could be used for their upcoming fall camps.  Cash payments are not made to students or parents.

Credits earned but not used by the end of grade 12 are transferred into the JCSMPA Subsidy Fund to help those who cannot fully afford to travel or designated to another sibling/friend in the music program. If you would like to make a donation to the Subsidy Fund at any time, please contact the MPA at jcsmpa@gmail.com

MPA Subsidy Fund

A portion of funds credited to the JCSMPA account is designated to the MPA Subsidy Fund.   The proceeds here are used to assist with travel subsidies to students who may not otherwise be able to attend out of town opportunities due to costs.   The Music Directors are responsible to advising the JCSMPA to the number of students they have identified who require assistance.  The MPA Subsidy Fund will offset a portion of the costs, not the entire cost.

MPA Enrichment Fund

This portion of the JCSMPA account is designated to provide enrichment in the band and choir programs.   Enrichment encompasses things like needed equipment, guest clinicians/conductors, busing costs for events and “wish lists” from each Music Director for their respective programs.   The Enrichment Fund is set up to ensure that the music programs your student is involved in, is the best it can be!
